Why Los Angeles Homeowners Choose Lennox Air Duct Cleaning

We’re Kestrel Air Duct Cleaning, an independent provider of Lennox repair in Los Angeles, and we clean, seal, and repair the duct systems connected to Lennox furnaces, heat pumps, and air handlers across the basin. Our Lennox work is different because we understand how these specific units behave when their ductwork is dirty or leaking. A Lennox variable-speed blower doesn’t fail the same way a single-stage unit does. It compensates, strains, and slowly degrades. We diagnose the duct side of that equation before it becomes a compressor or motor replacement. Call (469) 972-3151 for a written estimate.

We’re not a Lennox dealer or authorized warranty provider. We’re a local duct specialist that has cleaned, sealed, and repaired hundreds of Lennox systems from Sun Valley to South LA, and we know from experience how these units interact with the dust, ash, and attic heat that define Los Angeles housing stock. Dale Whitmore, our owner, cut his teeth on HVAC maintenance work in the San Fernando Valley and knows the failure patterns that show up when a Lennox system breathes through neglected ductwork.

Why Trust Kestrel Air Duct Cleaning for Your Lennox Air Duct Cleaning?

Most duct cleaners can run a brush through a trunk line. Few understand what a Lennox SL280V variable-speed blower does when it encounters high static pressure from a return duct that’s too small or a supply run that’s collapsed in a 140-degree attic. Our technicians know Lennox equipment. We’ve seen how an EL296V responds to a fouled evaporator coil, how an ML180 behaves when its blower wheel is caked with construction dust, and how an L-Series heat pump strains when its duct connections leak conditioned air into an unconditioned space.

Dale Whitmore trained at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, where he spent serious time on airflow, filtration, and the mechanics of what moves air through a home. He’s been cleaning ducts across Los Angeles for well over a decade, long enough to know that a Lennox system in a 1960s Valley ranch behaves differently than the same model in a newer Westside build. That’s the expertise we bring to every Lennox call. Every job runs under the Kingswell Guarantee: a written price before any work begins, a defined arrival window, a clean job site, and a written guarantee on the work. If the work falls short within the 365-Day Done Right Promise period, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s a standing commitment, not a promotional offer.

Common Lennox Air Duct Cleaning Problems We Fix in Los Angeles

  • Duct leakage at flex duct connections and takeoffs. This is the single most common issue we find on Lennox systems throughout Los Angeles, especially in those 1950s-1970s ranch homes with original fiberglass flex duct in unconditioned attics. The connections loosen over time. Conditioned air gets pushed into the attic, and the Lennox blower ramps up to compensate. On variable-speed models like the EL296V, that means higher energy consumption and uneven room temperatures.
  • Evaporator coil fouling from bypassing filtration. Duct leaks pull attic air into the return side, and that air carries dust, insulation fibers, and in Los Angeles after a fire event, fine ash and VOCs. That debris loads the evaporator coil. On Lennox systems, a fouled coil restricts airflow, drops capacity, and can eventually cause a frozen coil or a failed compressor. Cleaning the coil is the fix, but sealing the leaks is what keeps it from happening again.
  • Blower wheel contamination in older Lennox air handlers. A contaminated blower wheel throws off balance, creates noise, and strains the motor. We see this constantly on Lennox units that ran continuous fan during wildfire smoke events. The fine particulates from the Woolsey, Creek, and Eaton fires settle on the blower wheel and bake on in the dry LA heat. The system shakes, rattles, and works harder than it should.
  • Return duct undersizing or obstruction starving variable-speed systems. Lennox variable-speed blowers maintain a consistent CFM, and when the return side is choked, they push harder. That’s high static pressure, and it’s a slow killer for Lennox Signature Collection units like the SL296V. We’ve measured return ducts in older Los Angeles homes that are 30-40% undersized for the equipment they’re feeding. Sometimes the fix is as simple as removing a collapsed section of flex duct. Sometimes it’s a return added in the right location.
  • Crushed or kinked flex duct runs. Los Angeles attics run hot. Temperatures routinely exceed 140°F in the summer months, and that heat accelerates the deterioration of flex duct runs - especially the outer jacket that protects the insulation. We find runs that have collapsed, kinked, or disconnected entirely. A kinked run on a Lennox Merit Series ML196 forces the system to push against a restriction on every cycle, and that’s wasted energy and poor airflow to the rooms that matter.

Lennox Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

For Lennox repairs, we use genuine Lennox components when they’re readily available and cost-effective for the repair. If an OEM part isn’t practical to source or the age of the system doesn’t justify the cost, we use high-quality aftermarket equivalents that meet the same specification. We’ll tell you which we’re using and why before the work begins. No surprises at the end of the invoice.

When ductwork or components show severe deterioration - split flex duct, crushed trunk lines, or connections that have failed across multiple runs - we give you an honest assessment of repair versus replacement. The decision comes down to the age of the Lennox system, the condition of the duct network, and what makes financial sense for the years you plan to stay in the home. We don’t push replacement when a targeted repair will get you five more years. Call (469) 972-3151 to talk through what we’re seeing in your system.

Our Lennox Service Process - Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We inspect the full duct system - return, supply, takeoffs, and connections - with a focus on the areas where Lennox systems in Los Angeles typically fail. That includes static pressure measurements on variable-speed models to identify restrictions before they damage the blower motor.
  2. 2
Repair or cleaning. Depending on what we find, we clean the evaporator coil, seal duct leaks with mastic, replace crushed flex runs, or clean the entire duct network using negative-air extraction with brush agitation. Our Nikro negative-pressure units pull contaminants out while keeping the loosened particles out of your living space.
  3. 3
Test. We re-measure static pressure and airflow after the work is done. On a Lennox variable-speed system, that number tells us whether the blower is running in its design range or still fighting a restriction somewhere.
  4. 4
Warranty in writing. Every job gets the Kingswell Guarantee in writing: what we did, what we charged, and what we’ll do if the work falls short within the 365-Day Done Right Promise period. You have a document you can point to.

Lennox Products We Service & Install in Los Angeles
